Allen Koszowski (Artist)
Allen has been getting his art published in the SF/fantasy/horror genres since 1973, and has had more than 3,500 pieces of art published in various magazines, books, CD covers, comics, etc. since then. He has won a number of awards including The World Fantasy Best Artist Award, a Fanex Award, numerous SPWAO awards among others. He's been the artist Guest Of Honor at the World Fantasy Convention, The World Horror Convention, EerieCon, Albacon, and others. Some of his publishers include Arkham House, Whispers, Weirdbook, Fantasy Tales, Cemetery Dance, Subterranean Press, Asimov's SF, Crypt Of Cthulhu, Chaosium, Midnight House, The Horror Show, Midnight Marquee, and hundreds more. He recently had a big spread in the huge book Artists Inspired By Lovecraft from Centipede Press.
He started collecting books and magazines in the late fifties and at one time his collection of books and magazines numbered about 30,000 items. He has lost count now as he recently started to sell some items to help finance his own magazine INHUMAN which has published such authors as Robert Silverberg, Ramsey Campbell, Brian Lumley, Michael Shea, Donald Burleson, Jeffrey Thomas, Joe R. Lansdale, John Carpenter, and others.
He first read Lovecraft in the early sixties. The Dreams In The Witch House was the first HPL tale he read. He read it in the steeple of his church and the atmosphere was perfect. He's been a fan ever since.
He has been married for 36 years, and has two children.
