John Tulin tells me "The Sleeping Deep" teaser screening looked and sounded great. Excellent news. You never know what can happen with DVD exporting, encoding and such.

Congrats and kudos to all the filmmakers and fans involved with this year's festival. Wish I could have been there.

With any luck we'll be back in 2010 with the full feature in tow!???

Cheers,

They should have understood this before Hellboy. At the Mountains of Madness is the manifesto of a Cosmic slave revolt...
And you do remember all those "Penguin" movies?
Remember that HPL said only the blind albino penguins dwelt with the Shog'Goth?

I personally belive that it might be fun to add some Man Ray short films, some Hans Richter or Luis Buñuel's "Un Chien Andalou".
Adding bits of old German or French experimental films to the shorts block would add a bit of contrast to the film selection.

It looks like the new Solomon Kane film is just about done, and it seems like the sort of thing the filmmakers would want to take around to festivals and get audience feedback on.

I haven't seen this but it does have a few of the right words in the title. IMDB ratings gives it a low-middling rating but other reviews on the web are positive, in context of its low budget. Here's a link to the trailer:

The opening narrative is pretty funny.

This film looks like it might be a good fit for the HPL festival. According to the website it looks like they're touring the festival circuit.

It would be a great coup to screen Ivan Zuccon's Color From The Dark at this year's HPLFF.

It'll probably have a dvd release by the time the festival comes around, but it looks like it would be a perfect fit for this year's program.

As far as I can tell, it's had a very limited run of screenings at festivals, and no official theatrical release.

I'm sure the directors would be tickled pink to be invited to the fest...
