The Shunned Shorts and other Lovecraftian Treats
Jacques Cowan is what the French call 'a runner of the woods.' He may be a foreigner in the new world but Jacques quickly learned the ways of the native people, their language, their routes, and their skills. But he didn't leave his life in another land for adventure, freedom, and wealth - he had much more in mind than trading pelts and cheating death. Jacques had listened intently to the stories that had crossed the ocean, extraordinary tales of mystical creatures and unknown forces. Black Goat finds Jacques mid hunt, as he closes in on what others thought was a legend. Read more
Just another typical day for an Elder God whose current day job is hanging out on a fireplace mantle looking ominous...
December, 1959: Poe, a young writer, has locked himself inside a seedy hotel room with a bottle, an 8mm projector and the haunting memories of his "lost Lenore." His quiet obsession is interrupted when he receives a visit from a dark bird. Poe turns to the bird for answers, inspiration, and the promise of being reunited with his lost love. But the bird's only reply damningly echoes, "'Nevermore."
It is the story of Lenore and the light she brought to a tortured soul. Timeless in it's message, the poem has haunted audiences for over a hundred and sixty years.

Set in New England in the late 1920s, two friends Randolph Carter and Joel Manton spend a sunny autumn afternoon in a remote 17th century cemetery. An argument arises, concerning the horror stories written by Carter especially one story that draws Manton's sarcasm. It's centered around a creature so horrifying, that it cannot be named or described: the Unnamable... Manton, as a schoolteacher and firm believer in science, can`t imagine anything that could be truly unnamable. Encouraged by the atmosphere of the old burial ground Carter tells his friend about the origin of the story. Read more
Adaptations of HP Lovecraft’s work have always been problematic. The qualities that make his writing affective and powerful stem from his word choice and phrasing. Rather than attempt to fully adapt a single story this project uses three Lovecraft short stories and combines chosen elements to create an original story line. This takes the form of an exploratory journey through a city left to decay in humanity’s absence, however, a lone haunted man remains, watching the city crumble from his office window. Read more
An atmospheric exploration of a demonic evocation conducted by a contemporary occultist.
The Ritual was made as an exploration of the Occult Horror genre, setting out to bring the British influences of Hammer Horror and Clive Barker's Hellraiser up to date. This short addresses the issues within Western horror's preoccupation with stock aesthetics and religious reference points with an insight into contemporary occultism.

This 1968 television show was the predecessor of the BBC “A Ghost Story for Christmas” series. Based on a story by M.R. James, Professor Parkins (beautifully played by Micahel Hordern) finds an old whistle while perambulating through a coastal graveyard during a holiday respite. A total skeptic, the results of playing the artifact threaten his sanity. A very Lovecraftian movie that wasn’t authored by him.
Enter the multidimensional maze of the Ethereal Chrysalis, where the doors of perception become the annihilation of all rational thoughts.
Dr. Lawrence Schenker, Man of Science, is contacted by an old classmate with an intriguing problem, setting him on a mission to recreate a substance described in an ancient manuscript... with no thought to the possible consequences.
