Readings
Mythos Authors and Scholars Read Eldritch Passages
Come join us for readings by S.T. Joshi (HP Lovecraft: A Life), Robert
M. Price (Crypt of Cthulhu), Joe Pulver (Nightmare's Disciple), Stanley
Sargent (The Taint of Lovecraft), Scott Connors (The Freedom of Fantastic
Things: Selected Criticism on Clark Ashton Smith), and others. Look
here for more updates.
Andrew Migliore will read the poem "Old 'man' Cthulhu" to kick things off.
Stanley Sargent will read an edited and updated version of his article noting the direct influence Lovecraft's work had on Sam Raimi's three "Evil Dead" films, based on personal research and a 1996 interview Stan conducted with Bruce Campell, star of the trilogy.
Robert M. Price will read Lovecraft's "The Fungi from Yuggoth" sonnet sequence in his awesomely resonant voice. It concerns a person who obtains an ancient book of esoteric knowledge that allows one to travel to other planets and strange parts of the universe.
Scott Connors will read Clark Ashton Smith's prose poems "To the Daemon" and "From the Crypts of Memory," along with his poems "To Howard Phillips Lovecraft" and "H.P.L."
S.T. Joshi will read Lovecraft's little-known story "Sweet Ermengarde". This is by far the best of his three comic stories (the others are "A Reminiscence of Dr. Samuel Johnson" and "Ibid"), and will be most amusing.
